What is Axie Infinity game ?

Axie Infinity is a blockchain-based trading and battling game that is partially owned and operated by its players.

Inspired by popular games like Pokémon and Tamagotchi, Axie Infinity allows players to collect creatures known as Axies.

Players aim to battle, breed, collect, raise, and build kingdoms for their Axies. The universe has a player-owned economy where players can truly own, buy, sell, and trade resources they earn in the game through skilled gameplay and contributions to the ecosystem.

These Axies can take various forms, and there are more than 500 different body parts available, including aquatic, beast, bird, bug, plant and reptile parts. Parts from each type class come in four different rarity scales: common, rare, ultra rare and legendary — and Axies can have any combination of body parts, making them highly variable and often rare and unique.

You can buy Axies from other players using the Marketplace, or you can purchase eggs from the Axie Lab if it is open.

You can also create new Axie eggs through breeding.

In the future, new players will be able to get started without any up-front purchase of Axies by receiving non-transferable Axies with limited earning potential.

While Axie is a fun game, it’s also taken on characteristics of a social network and earning platform due to the strong community and opportunity to truly own resources earned within the games.

A key difference between Axie and a traditional game is that Blockchain economic design unlocks the ability to have complex player-owned economies and reward players who are able to reach advanced levels of skill. Players are able to have fun and work towards ambitious goals while simultaneously earning potential resources that will have real monetary value due to an open economic system and demand from other players – “Play-and-Earn”.

Axie Infinity Shards - $AXS

Axie Infinity Shards(AXS) are an ERC-20 governance token for the Axie Universe. AXS holders will be able to claim rewards if they stake their tokens, play the game, and participate in key governance votes. Players will also be able to earn $AXS when they play various games within the Axie Infinity Universe and through user-generated content initiatives.

Axie Infinity (AXS) tokens have a total supply of 270 million tokens. Out of this, around 53.5 million tokens were in circulation as of mid-November 2020.

In total, 11% of the total supply was allocated to participants in the Binance Launchpad IEO sale (each Axie Infinity token price was $0.10) and 4% was sold in a private sale. In addition to this, 29% is allocated for staking rewards, 20% to the play-to-earn pool, 21% to the team, 7% to advisors and 8% to the ecosystem fund.

Based on the current release schedule, as indicated by Binance Research, 100% of AXS tokens will be circulating by early 2026.
